Wedding bouquet

A wedding bouquet can be lots of fun to create, and silk flowers make a great keep sake.

My daughter chose white calla lilies for her bouquet. I found some gorgeous silk calla lilies with nice long stems. My daughter and I had this vision of a huge batch of lilies for her bouquet, accented with a purple ribbon wound around the stems to match the Bride’s Maids flowers. I also purchased some white white Calla Lillies for her bouquet. I found some gorgeous silk calla lilies with nice long stems. My daughter and I had this vision of a huge batch of lilies for her bouquet, accented with a purple ribbon wound around the stems to match the Bride’s Maids flowers. I also purchased some white orchids with a purple center. The process for making the bouquet was quite simple. I laid the flowers out on the table in a bunch and then pulled one out so it looked longer than the rest. Then I did it with another one making it just a little shorter than the longest one. I did this with three or four of the stems creating a layered effect. After I had arranged the flowers perfectly, I took a wide purple ribbon about a meter in length. I then braided the ribbon up the stems tightly, while trying not to destroy the layering affect. I started braiding the ribbon near the end of the stems and worked my way up to the edge of the flowers. Then I tied a nice big bow. My daughter was thrilled with the way it turned out. Silk Bride's Maid bouquets are great because the

Bride can give them as gifts after the wedding.

You might want to consider silk flowers for your out door wedding because they can be made weeks ahead of time and stored until the big day. After I created these bouquets, I had them hanging on the wall in my sewing/craft room. Of course this created an atmosphere of excitement for the big bay and it kept me on track while I focused on the next step of the planning process.

You could also involve the Bride's Maids in making the bouquets, it's a great reason to get together. They might like to contribute to your wedding in this way. You could also turn it into a wine and cheese party. Remember to take lots of photos of every step along the way, because making memories is what it’s all about.

I made my daughter a special throwing bouquet. “Why would you do that?” you may ask. Well for starters the calla lilies bouquet was far to big to throw and she wanted to keep it as an heirloom, and the person that caught the throwing bouquet got to keep it too. Pretty cool ha? At least I thought that was a great idea.

Thanks to the department stores that carry silk

flowers . I got mine for a great deal. Here's a great little tip. If you plan your wedding well ahead of time, like 6 months or so you can purchase your choice of flowers each time they go on sale.
